Khalid Abdel Rahman’s style
is characteristic of abstract architectural scenes from different Sudanese
cities, particularly Khartoum. These are neighborhoods often inhabited by the
middle class that is slowly becoming uninhabited as people continue to be in
search of a better life elsewhere. The selection of acrylic paintings and
monotypes depicts the deserted streets of different neighborhoods. Rahman
highlights elements of architecture such as walls, gates, roofs, and trees at
multiple scales and angles while also depicting cityscapes from aerial views.
