Presented by the African Art Galleries Association (AAGA), African Galleries Now brings together a network of 10 pan-African galleries showcasing contemporary African art from the continent from March 30th - April 17th.
Each gallery presents four visual artists–a total of 40–including artists from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Nigeria, Botswana, Mali and Cameroon.
As international interest in African contemporary art continues to grow, the AAGA brings together a broad community of arts professionals championing the growth and sustainability of contemporary African visual art on the continent and supports its future leaders.
By building an African arts infrastructure and advancing the professional development of artists, curators, critics, art dealers and collectors while creating networks that allow emerging galleries to prosper, the pan-African AAGA initiative supports contemporary art sectors and infrastructure on all parts of the continent.
